The Facebook Pixel has been released! If you want to measure, optimise and build audiences for your ad campaigns, you’re probably familiair with the Conversion Pixel and Custom Audience Pixel of Facebook. Facebook combined the power of these two pixels into one new pixel named Facebook Pixel.
Your existing Conversion pixel and Custom Audience pixel will continue to work, but we recommend you to upgrade to the new Facebook pixel to take advantage of the new features. Facebook will continue to support existing Conversion pixels but plan to deprecate support of existing conversion pixels in the second half of 2016.
A Pixel is a hidden piece of Javascript code you can place on your website and Facebook Add to build audiences and know exactly which ads led to your conversions.
You only have to implement one pixel instead of two. Besides this efficiency improvement, you can also make your own Custom Conversions with the new Facebook pixel. This awesome feature gives you a new and easy way to define conversions on your website without modifying codes. Conversions can be based on someone reaching a specific page on your website, like your “thankyou” page.
